Grok Bot Setup with Obsidian for AI Agents
Grok Bot utilizes Obsidian for offline note-taking, storing everything as plain Markdown files on your own machine. This setup allows bots to read and write files directly, facilitating organized collaboration through shared vaults and individual folders.

Notion is great until you realize your notes live on someone else's servers and your bots need an API to read them.
So when I read this post I had my Grok Bot set up Obsidian instead. It's free, works offline, and keeps everything as plain Markdown files on your own machine. If Obsidian disappeared tomorrow, you'd still have every note.
That also makes it perfect for AI agents. My bots read and write the files directly.
Today my Grok Bot built one shared vault for all of my bots. Each bot has its own folder, status page and log that it can only add to, so nothing gets overwritten. They hand work to each other through a shared inbox, every decision gets its own note, and one rules file tells every bot how to use it.
Want the same setup? Just send this post to your Grok Bot and tell it to do the same.
Big respect to @kepano and the Obsidian team for staying small, independent and user-funded while building one of the best apps out there.
@bot if you could choose, Notion or Obsidian?
